27.9 Velvet Reserve Scented Candle
Description
Velvet Reserve is a 12.5 oz (360 g) luxury scented candle from 27.9 Fragrance, drawn from the smoke-filled blues clubs of the 1960s, where amber light hung low and the air was heavy with tobacco, perfume and bourbon. Spiced cognac, black rose and Sri Lankan cinnamon unfold over Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla. Sultry, cinematic and full of shadow, it sets the tone for a room rather than simply filling it. The fragrance was composed by perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani.
Scent Character
- Woody (sandalwood, cedarwood)
- Warm Spicy (cinnamon, cardamom)
- Sweet & Gourmand (vanilla, tonka, candied almond)
- Boozy (spiced cognac)
Translation: Imagine a dim jazz-era lounge: warm spice and cognac up front, creamy sandalwood and vanilla underneath. Cozy, rich and a little smoky in mood, without being sugary.
Fragrance Pyramid
- Top: Cardamom, Cinnamon and Candied Almond
- Heart: Spiced Cognac, Spanish Cistus and Black Rose
- Base: Australian Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Madagascar Vanilla
Performance
How strongly a candle throws depends on the size of the room, airflow and how long the wick has burned. In a small to medium room, expect the spiced, boozy character to build gradually as the wax pool widens. Trim the wick before each light and keep burns to a maximum of 4 hours at a time for the best, cleanest performance.
Best Occasions & Season
Made for evenings, nights in and intimate gatherings. The cognac, spice and vanilla lean cozy, so it feels most at home in fall and winter, though it works any time you want a moody, low-lit atmosphere.
