Boka Zelen Extrait

Description

Zelen is vetiver made smooth: green citrus, soft spice and a honeyed touch of beeswax. It is the first release from Boka, the American house of perfumer Boris Zrnic, and its name means "green" in Serbian, a nod to his family roots. Zrnic spent about three years on it, working almost entirely with natural materials. Most vetivers read sharp or smoky; here Mexican lime, Japanese yuzu and Italian bergamot lift it, pink pepper and green cardamom warm it, and beeswax absolute rounds it off. The aim, in the house's words, was something timeless rather than trendy.

Scent Character

Translation: woody and fresh in equal measure. The vetiver, cedar and sandalwood give structure, the citrus keeps it bright, and pepper and cardamom add a gentle warmth. The beeswax brings only a light sweetness.
