Description

The City Rhythm Discovery Set puts five of the house's extraits in one box, a quick tour before you buy a bottle. City Rhythm names each fragrance after a place, and most of the line lives on warm, beachy ground: coconut, rum, sea salt and tropical fruit. This set picks four of those and one darker city for contrast, Manhattan, with its tea, frankincense and tobacco. It is the smaller of the two City Rhythm sets at Venba; the 13-scent Collectors Set is the full survey.

Five 1mL samples of City Rhythm Extrait de Parfum:

• 2654: blood orange, coconut and sea salt over jasmine, almond and sugar cane, drying down to rum, ambergris and tonka.
• Manhattan: cinnamon and bergamot over tea, chili and frankincense, ending in vanilla, vetiver and tobacco.
• San Diego: blood orange, sea salt and lavender over almond, iris and jasmine, resting on ambergris and driftwood.
• Miami: lime, coconut and saffron with ylang-ylang and osmanthus, drying to rum, cedar, tobacco and ambergris.
• Miami Tropical Confessions: coconut milk, hibiscus and lime, then white rum, jasmine and magnolia on sandalwood, tonka and vanilla.

How To Use a Discovery Set

Wear one fragrance per day on bare skin, one or two sprays on the wrist or neck, and leave it for a few hours. The opening is only the first chapter; the drydown is what you live with.

Try the tropical four on warm days and save Manhattan for a cool evening. Then compare your two favorites side by side before choosing a bottle.

Each 1mL sample comes in a 2mL vial filled halfway, so the vial will look half full. That is the right amount, and it gives you several wears of each.
