The “G.A.” openly honors Grimaud Alfred, Alfred d’Orsay’s own birth surname before he became the 19th-century dandy Paris still name-checks. Perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur built it around a smoky black tea-leather (cuiré) accord playing off sweet, innocent orange blossom. Reviewers compare the tension to Hermès Cuir d’Ange, minus the sweetness.
