Perfumer Dominique Ropion opens with a pink-and-black pepper duo, moves into ylang ylang and orange blossom, and lands on a five-note woody-amber base of tonka bean, benzoin, patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver. If you like intense white florals such as Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, this sits in similar dense, spiced-floral territory but skews warmer and woodier rather than dark and fruity.
