Fragrance Du Bois built New York Intense as an Extrait de Parfum tribute to the city's restless energy: blackberry, cinnamon, and rose spark at the opening, a warm frankincense-and-guaiac heart follows, and it settles into a dense, resinous base built around real agarwood, genuine oud drawn from the house's own Southeast Asian plantations, alongside myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, and cedar. Perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros composed it as an Amber Woody scent, bright and spicy up top, then unmistakably oud-driven by the base, built, in the house's words, to capture "the vibrant summertime of New York."
