Description

Terra is a dialogue between fire and coolness, told through the language of an African sunset. Created by Adill Ali — an English perfumer of Somali and Kenyan roots — for Jijide’s Dialogue Collection and launched in 2024, it lets warm Kenyan spices, leather and oud meet the clean lift of aldehydes as day surrenders to evening. Scorched-earth facets of Virginia cedar, guaiac wood and Kenyan vetiver ground the story in the land itself, while amber, patchouli and oud linger like the last embers of a gathering. The inspiration comes from Ali’s memories of a house in a small Kenyan village where he spent his early years — the scent of conviviality as the sky changes colour.
