Amouage Opus VII Reckless Leather EDP

Description

Opus VII Reckless Leather opens green and bitter, with galbanum and nutty fenugreek sharpened by pink pepper, cardamom and nutmeg, before a smoky heart of leather and oud. Composed by Alberto Morillas and Pierre Negrin for Amouage's Library Collection in 2013, it is one of the house's less conventional leathers. The fenugreek gives it an almost maple-like, savory edge, and patchouli and ambergris round out the leather and oud smoke in the heart. It dries down to frankincense, cypriol, costus and sandalwood with a soft musk. Reviewers disagree on how "reckless" the leather is, but they agree on the performance.
