Description

Fleur du Mal is a leather flower: apricot-like osmanthus wrapped in soft suede. Dries Van Noten, the Antwerp fashion house, built it around a deliberate contradiction, and ties the osmanthus to the designer's own garden. Juicy peach opens it, osmanthus and jasmine carry the heart, and suede and amber give the drydown a warm, slightly animal skin feel. The house describes it as opulent yet intimate, and that is the right read: rich, fruity and floral, but worn close. The formula is 88% naturally derived, according to the house.
