Description

Oud Stallion is saffron-spiced leather with genuine agarwood underneath, a tack-room oud that trades smoke for spice and rose. Released in 2023 by Maison Crivelli, the Paris house founded by Thibaud Crivelli around the idea of unexpected sensory encounters, it was composed by Jordi Fernández and is said to come from Crivelli's memory of smelling oud wood at the horse races. It opens hot and bright on saffron, cardamom and Indonesian nutmeg, softens through a heart of Turkish rose, osmanthus and jasmine, then settles into leather, agarwood, cedar, patchouli and a creamy tonka finish. Reviewers most often place it against Tom Ford Tuscan Leather: less smoky, noticeably spicier, and more floral in the middle.

Scent Character

Translation: a spice-and-rose opening carries the first half of the wear, and the second half belongs to woods, real oud and leather. The small sweet share is the tonka: enough to round the edges, never enough to make it gourmand.
