Iris Torréfié translates to "toasted iris," and that's exactly the trick: a powdery, high-grade iris pallida warmed over roasted coffee and cardamom until it smells more like a café at dawn than a powder room. Perfumer Delphine Jelk built it for Guerlain's boutique-only L'Art & la Matière collection, released in 2020 — a line made in limited runs and sold mostly through Guerlain's own boutiques rather than wide retail. Cardamom, coffee, and bergamot open the fragrance; iris and ambrette (musk mallow) carry the heart; leather, vanilla, tea, and amber round it into a soft, powdery-gourmand base. It's a quieter, more contemplative iris than most — closer to old-world glamour than modern minimalism.
